College of Nursing Sciences Mbano commenced as a School of Nursing in 1983 beneath the proprietorship of the then Catholic Minister of Okigwe Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Anthony Ilonu., with Rev. Sr. Mary Thomas Anyanwu, IHM, as the pioneer Central. To the radiance of God, in Nov 2019, the institution transmuted into a College of Nursing Sciences. Till date, the institution runs as a private tertiary institution, beneath the administration of the Sisters of the Perfect Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ, Nigeria, with Rev. Sr. Dr. Mary Laurette Madu, as the incumbent Executive.
The institution was founded out of the need made by the devastating impacts of the Nigeria gracious war, which finished in 1970. There was the shortage of labor for quality responsive healthcare suppliers to require care of the casualties of the various flare-ups of irresistible infections caused by the corrupted post gracious war situations.
The institution gotten its statutory establishment beneath Rev. Sr. Mary Laurette Madu, who enlisted it with the Corporate Issues Commission (CAC) in 2017.
