The Nigeria Air Force College of Nursing has a long and prestigious history. Founded in 1952, it is the oldest school of nursing in Nigeria associated with the military.
The college has an excellent reputation for providing high quality nursing education and training. It offers a 3-year basic general nursing program leading to the award of a diploma in nursing.
The program is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, meeting high standards.
Students at the college not only receive a top-notch education, but also have the chance to serve their country. Upon graduation, students are commissioned as Air Force nurses with the rank of Flying Officer.
Nigeria Air Force College of Nursing School Fees
The Nigeria Air Force College of Nursing, like most higher education institutions, charges tuition and fees for their programs.
As a military nursing school, NAFCON offers subsidized tuition for students in exchange for mandatory military service upon graduation.
Tuition at NAFCON covers the cost of instruction and learning resources for the nursing program.
Tuition is paid per semester, with two semesters per academic year. For the 2023/024 school year, tuition is ₦200,000 per semester for Nigerian students. International students pay ₦350,000 per semester.

Additional Fees
In addition to tuition, NAFCON charges the following fees:
- Application fee: ₦10,000. A one-time, non-refundable fee paid when submitting your application for admission.
- Acceptance fee: ₦50,000. A one-time fee paid upon receiving an offer of admission to confirm your acceptance.
- Medical examination fee: ₦5,000. Paid for the mandatory medical exam required for all new students.
- School uniform: ₦15,000. All students are required to purchase official school uniforms, including scrubs and athletic wear.
- Boarding fees: ₦150,000 per semester. For students living in the school hostels. Covers accommodation and meals.
- Learning resources: ₦25,000 per semester. For essential textbooks, workbooks, and other resources.
- Extracurricular fees: Varies. For optional activities like clubs, sports teams, field trips, etc.
The total cost of fees in addition to tuition is typically around ₦260,000 per semester for Nigerian day students.
Boarding students and international students can expect to pay ₦410,000 or more per semester.

Courses Offered at Nigeria Air Force College of Nursing
The Nigeria Air Force College of Nursing offers several courses for aspiring nurses and medical professionals.
1. Basic Nursing
This three-year diploma program provides foundational nursing skills and knowledge. You’ll take classes in areas like anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and pharmacology.

These programs typically take 18-24 months to complete, depending on the specialization. You’ll take advanced courses and complete clinical practice at facilities relevant to your chosen specialization.
3..Higher Degrees
For nurses looking to advance into leadership and teaching roles, the college offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Nursing. The B.Sc. Nursing program is three years, while the M.Sc.
Nursing program takes two years. These programs cover topics such as nursing education, administration, and research methods to prepare you for roles as nurse educators, managers, and researchers.

Nigeria Air Force College of Nursing Off Mark
To gain admission into the Nigeria Air Force College of Nursing, you must meet the cut off mark set by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The cut off mark varies each year depending on the number of applications received and the available spaces.
In addition to meeting the JAMB cut off mark, candidates must also have a minimum of five credits in not more than two sittings in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or National Examination Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
The admission process into the Nigeria Air Force College of Nursing involves the following steps:
