Early life
Genivieve Nnaji (Born May 3, 1979) is a Nigerian actress, producer, and director. She is from Mbaise of Imo State, Nigeria. But was born and grew-up in Lagos. She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005, becoming the first person to do so.
In 2011, she was recognized by the Nigerian Federal Republic as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic for her contribution to Nollywood.
Her directorial debut movie, Lionheart, is the first Netflix-Originated film from Nigeria and the first Nigerian submission for the Oscars.
Lionheart was disqualified because it contained mostly English dialogue.
